Ah the classic “anyone who disagrees with me is mentally ill” because I can’t be fucked to understand other people because I’m actually mentally ill myself and unwilling to get help.
It’s called projection.
A thirty year old woman is reasonably an adult. You’re not going to be grooming her or anything. The older you get, the less an age difference is really an issue.

This post gives me the heebie jeebies. Yecccch. Sorry I don’t have any good advice just disgusted by the very thought which had never occurred to me.
You’re welcome. The company my psychiatrist used to do it is called GeneSight if that helps at all.
Be careful though, they have a lot of negative reviews about people’s doctors saying it is covered and then getting a bill for services. I did not have that experience, mine was definitely fully covered and I have not received a bill. Check with your insurance to be sure, and if you’re open to paying it out of pocket, it sounds like $300 to $500 is about the cost most people pay when insurance doesn’t cover it.
It’s absolutely manageable with medication and good therapy.
The medication is there to get them calm enough so the therapy can do it’s work. But the medication will probably also be something they need to take their whole lives. The worst seems to happen when people go off their medications, in my experience.
There is also now genetic testing that can be done before prescribing medication so you can know exactly the best biological pathways that your body has. In essense, which drugs are most easily metabolised by your body.
This gives psychiatrists a better path to finding a good set of drugs that can help instead of going in scattershot. Knowing which drugs will be best metabolised by your body avoids wasting time on drugs that don’t metabolise well.
I strongly suggest the genetics testing for this and I stress the importance of finding a good therapist your son trusts.
This comment section gives me hope.
Good job, Lemmings, for recognizing this for what it is.
beans
Lemmy approved.
Telegram was always a bad actor with misleading claims about their communications service. Not shocking at all.
Glad to see some love for Shenmue
Props for DE being at the top of your list.
Yeah for a third person isometric RPG with non-linear branching storylines and deep thoughtful story, Disco Elysium positively blows BG3 out of the water.
The most frustrating part about this is they already reduce the amount of SNAP benefits you get based on income.
Being forced to work 80 hours a month in, say, Washington state, for example, means that an individual will have drastically reduced SNAP income because 80 hours a week at Washington minimum wage is $1332.80 a month, which is just $612 shy of the max income limit for a single person to be able to recieve SNAP benefits at all. This could reduce someone’s SNAP benefits by about $100.
So, in essence, demanding they have a job is effectively reducing the amount of benefits paid out. That’s how this is intended to save money, to reduce total payouts by forcing people to labor and lose benefits.
As a single person who is technically disabled due to cancer but has been hesitant to get on disability because there’s a good chance my cancer could go into remission, I am left feeling pretty fucked into a corner about this myself, even though I have no dependents.
All of this is especially cruel in the face of a likely incoming recession from the economic stupidity on display by this administration. When unemployment skyrockets, people will just be out of luck with no safety net.
If I recall correctly it’s related to licensing issues with the person who composed the original music in Sonic 3. Some people see it as evidence of the rumor that Michael Jackson was involved in the Sonic 3 music development.
To be clear, the early 2D series of Sonic was relatively story-light, the detailed stories and characters didn’t really arrive until Sonic Adventure. Some of these you will need emulators on your PC to play. Make sure you have a good gamepad, either an Xbox controller or PS4/PS5 controller or a knockoff in the same style are ideal.
Best 2D Sonic (light on story, heavy on gameplay): Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Close 2nd 2D Sonic: Sonic 3 + Sonic & Knuckles
Best 3D Sonic (heavy on story and gameplay): Sonic Adventure
Close 2nd 3D Sonic: Sonic Adventure 2
3D “Sonic” with a cult following: Shadow the Hedgehog
Honorable Mention because it’s so fun in terms of gameplay and story: Sonic Generations and/or Shadow Generations
There was at least one Squid from Lemmy that took a Flying leap to go there.
It actually is directly tied to the movies. The character who first gives Furiosa a chassis to build from isn’t quite as hunchbacked as in the game but he is credited as “Chumbucket!”
The wild part is that he’s so good at subverting anime tropes, too. The “killing god” trope is mentioned in the first lines of the game… and then going on to battling the end credits themselves?? Literally killing the gods who created the world this all exists in? Taking it to the absurd yet logical extreme, so brilliant.
Exactly.
